New Falcons era begins with immediate impact on CS2 scene

The most talked-about CS2 move of the spring is finally playing out on the server. Finn "Karrigan" Andersen officially joined Team Falcons on April 20 after being benched by FaZe Clan, and his debut at PGL Astana 2026 in Kazakhstan started with a clean 2-0 sweep over K27, with m0NESY anchoring the win with 36 kills and a 1.56 rating.

The honeymoon didn't last long. A 2-1 defeat to an unbeaten 9z side temporarily derailed Falcons before they recovered with a 2-0 win over Monte, ultimately navigating the Swiss stage and pushing all the way to the grand final against Team Spirit.

With Team Vitality absent from PGL Astana due to a scheduling conflict with IEM Atlanta, the $1.6 million event opened the door for a new name to emerge at the top of the CS2 pecking order. Karrigan has been candid about where things stand, splitting IGL duties with NiKo and acknowledging the team is still a work in progress under tournament pressure.

A loss in the final wouldn't be devastating given it's Karrigan's debut event with the squad, but reaching it already signals that this roster has real potential heading into Major season. Meanwhile, IEM Atlanta runs concurrently, keeping the full CS2 calendar packed through mid-May.
